W A FLORAL ART SOCIETY INC 'JUDGES'

The West Australian Floral Art Society Inc being the recognised state body of floral art in Western Australia trains 'Floral Art Judges' who judge at monthly meetings and other floral art competitions throughout the state.  Judges also provide monthly society demonstrations and periodic workshops/mini lessons not only for members of this society but other floral art groups throughout Western Australia.

Judges trained by this Society are also acknowledged by the Australian Floral Art Association Inc (AFAA) and the World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA) allowing them to judge on a national and international level.

Before members can be considered to train as Judges of this Society they must have worked their way through our three tiered 'Show Benches' over a two year or so period, competed in the 'Open Benches' for another 12 months, entered State and Members Championship competitions and then apply to be considered for the 'Trainees Judges Programme'.  Trainee Judges must complete a further rigorous two year training program passing both written and practical exams before being presented with their judges badge.

Judges meetings are held on a regular basis where any information or business pertaining to Judging is discussed.

Judges provide assessment at monthly meetings and are also available to judge at our affiliated clubs and other horticultural group floral competitions throughout Australia.  All judging, demonstrating and workshop assignments must be directed through the WA Floral Art Society Judges Committee to ensure judges are allocated accordingly and a record of assignments is noted.    To download a copy of the  'APPLICATION FORM'  for a judge/s to provide assessment at floral competitions, please click on this link and post to the Judges Committee Secretary as soon as possible.

A special all day 'Judges Committee Workshop' is held every year providing a wonderful opportunity for Judges to further enhance their floral art, judging and analysing skills.     This workshop has been designed to develop consistency, uniformity and to maintain a high level of Floral Art judging in Western Australia.  As the recognised State Body for Floral Art in this State this society continues to aid in the development of Judges and Trainee Judges, improving skills and to ensure all judges are operating under the direction of the WA Floral Art Society Inc and the Australian Floral Art Association (AFAA).
