W A FLORAL ART SOCIETY INC 'TRAINEE JUDGES & DEMONSTRATING PROGRAMME'
CRITERIA FOR TRAINEE JUDGES & DEMONSTRATING PROGRAMME (as determined and conducted by the West Australian Floral Art Society Judges Committee)
The Panel of the West Australian Floral Art Society 'Judges Committee' determines the syllabus, format and times this programme will commence, with the Australian Floral Art Association (AFAA) Manual used as a source of reference. The duration of the ‘Trainee Judges’ programme is 2 years; with an optional 6-month course pertaining to ‘Demonstrating’ on offer should a member successfully complete this course. Criteria:
A ‘Trainee Judges’ programme can only be undertaken when a group of 6 or more members are prepared to commence this course.
These courses provide wonderful opportunities for the floral designer to gain a wealth of knowledge on many aspects of floral design – from mastering techniques to applying the principles and elements to designs and acknowledging that as floral artists we will continue to learn, pass on knowledge and inspire others.
Members interested in pursuing this course and are able to comply with the above criteria, should offer an ‘expression of interest’ to the Secretary of the ‘Judges Committee’ - Sharon Cunningham, for further consideration.
Judges provide assessment at monthly meetings and are also available to judge at our affiliated clubs and other horticultural group floral competitions throughout Australia. All judging, demonstrating and workshop assignments must be directed through the WA Floral Art Society Judges Committee to ensure judges are allocated accordingly and a record of assignments is noted. To download a copy of the ''Application Form' for a judge/s to provide assessment at floral competitions, please click on this link and post to the Judges Committee Secretary as soon as possible.
