4th AUSTRALIAN FLORAL DESIGN CONVENTION 'FLORAL RENDEZVOUS 2010'
As the 'Floral Rendezvous 2010' Show Committee receives Registration Forms from attendees wishing to participate at this event, these are processed accordingly - with letters acknowledging receipt of funds and class entry acceptance being sent ASAP. Please allow a '2 week turn around' for processing of Registration Forms/Entry documentation etc and if after that time attendees have not had a response, please contact Dianne Buckles (dbuckles@bigfoot.com.au) ASAP. The following tables have been setup to provide further information re staging etc and closer to the event an updated 'Floor Plan' of where classes will be stage at the Boulevard Centre will be included on this link.

4th Australian Floral Design Convention
The West Australian
Floral Art Society Inc in conjunction with the Australian Floral Art Association
Inc (AFAA) extend an invitation to those who appreciate ‘The Beauty of
Nature’ to visit the 4th Australian Floral Design
Convention titled ‘FLORAL RENDEZVOUS 2010’, when Western
Australia will proudly host this prestigious National convention from Friday
the 10th September till Sunday the 12th September
2010 (10.00am to 4.00pm - $5 entry) The BOULEVARD CENTRE (located under the Town
of Cambridge Library), 99 the Boulevard, Floreat, will be transformed into a
venue filled with stunning floral designs from some of Australia’s top floral
designers, who will be competing to take out awards across some 15 classes.
Apart from the competitive classes there will also be large displays from
each of the 7 AFAA State Member Groups (WA, SA, NSW, VIC, ACT, TAS & QLD), a
NAFAS display (UK) and other floral art clubs throughout Western Australia. The viewing public will be treated to a FLORAL
FEAST that will delight both young and old - with hundreds of diverse
designs being created for your enjoyment. This wonderful exhibition will awaken the senses as
so many stunning designs are showcased - from the large Championship class
(where some designers will create exhibits over 180cm tall) to others such as
the ‘With a Swirl and Twirl’ class, the ‘Drifting and
Dreaming’ Suspended class, a Contemporary Bridal Bouquet class, an ‘After
Five’ Horticultural Handbag, a Petite Section, a ‘Nature’s
Jewels’ Horticultural Necklace class, Collage, Pave as well as
interpretative classes such as ‘Nature’s Sculpture’, and ‘Glorious
Sunset’, to the special fashion class titled Haute Couture’
(a dressed Mannequin class). Floristry students from Challenger Institute of
Technology will also be staging fashion designs at the Floreat Forum Shopping
Centre for public viewing. Don’t miss this exciting event and make sure you
make a note in your diaries for September 2010. All Competitive designs
will be staged at the Boulevard Centre in Floreat, while all floral
workshops and demonstrations will be held at Rendezvous Observation City
Hotel in Scarborough. Further information regarding this event and entry details pertaining to the spectacular floral demonstration being conducted by Internationally renowned Canadian floral designer Hitomi Gilliam AIFD as well as demonstrations created by some of Australia's top floral designers and workshop activities being undertaken throughout this event are also detailed on this website.
